Mission Statement:

        Abu Yunis was founded in 2006 with the mission of providing students, educators, policy makers and professionals with high quality educational travel throughout Yemen. Abu Yunis seeks to offer visitors an in-depth exposure to Yemen, it's  people, culture and history. We ascribe to the philosophy that travel is an inherently different experience then tourism. The traveler is an dynamic force, seeking experiences that broaden the mind and interacting directly with the peoples and cultures they encounter. The traveler is an ambassador, fostering understanding and bridging cultures. Tourism is a reflexive activity, the tourist take the role of the passive observer seeking to confirm prefigured ideas in the "sites" they "see."   Travelers are open not only to what they can learn about other cultures, but also what other cultures can teach them about themselves. Abu Yunis programs are created in the spirit of the traveler, those who seek to discover themselves as part of an incredibly diverse human race.
